SEcTION: 14 ACCESS RAMPS REQUIREMENTS SEcTION: 14 ACCESS RAMPS REQUIREMENTS

14.2 RAMPS FOR PUBLIc AND PEOPLE WITh DISABILITY 14.3.1 The minimum width for service access ramps shall be 1.2 meter,
with slopes not greater than 8%.
All building types except the private villas shall require accessible ramps
for people with disability. Public ramps are required for specific building 14.3.2 No handrail is required if the slope of the ramp is 5% or less and
such as: schools, airports and buildings with similar activity. Refer to if the maximum landing level is 1.0 meter.
the Authority’s related code on the minimum requirements for above
mentioned ramps width, slope, location, handrail, etc. 14.3.3 If a ramp slope is greater than 5%, then handrail will be
                            required.

14.3 SERVIcE RAMPS 14.3.4 Landing platforms for all building entrance doors shall be on
Ramp exclusively for services such as: forklifts, garbage trolleys, etc level and sloped if drainage is required.
(figure -54) 14.3.5 Landing platforms shall be at least 1.2 meter deep if doors swing

inwards, and 1.5 meter deep if doors swing outwards.

≥1.2 m ≥ 1.5 m 14.3.6 If the vertical height requires two ramps to achieve the properly
graded slope, the ramps shall not be longer than 10.0 meters
and shall be separated by a level-landing platform of at least 1.2
meter long with 90 or 180-degree turns.
