14.19. Walking and running speed

To be aware of walking and running speeds is relevant when designing parks and
streets.

Especially relevant is to consider people walking slowly when defining the green time for
pedestrians in traffic lights.

Audible communication in the range of 500-2.000 Hz should be favoured in acoustic
signals, alarms and voice messages in Public Announcement Systems.
